Closer Each Day In Kansas City

It's a beautiful, hot summer here at Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark. As temperatures continue to average 100 degrees each day, our guests and fans are cooling off in our unique attractions each day, including the world's longest tidal wave river, an uphill water coaster, tube chutes, rapids, water slides, areas for kids and more.

We thank all of you for your enthusiasm and interest as we continue the construction of our new attractions. Although we do not have an opening date to share at this time, we are working to open the new rides as soon as we can.

We opened the new Blitz Falls tube chute the first week of July, which now completes the circuit of our Transportainment River System. Additional new attractions will open when they are ready, some sooner than others.

We appreciate your patience and we know you are going to love the new experiences when we introduce them. For now, here are a few pictures for you.

Sprinkling the landscape in the falls area along the bank of the King Kaw Rapids River

The entrance to the Might Mo fast-flow tube chute in the foreground and the new slide tower in the background.

Loopy Luge is a totally enclosed, head first mat slide.

Comal Express is an open air, head first mat slide with a double dip ending.

Der Bahn is a totally enclosed, dark tube slide with lots of twists and turns.

Run out area for all three new slides. Notice the double dip ending on Comal Express in the middle.

Notice the intricate decorative rock sculpted on the wall of the Mighty Mo tube chute. This fast-flow tube chute is a secret passage and shortcut back to Kristal River.

 More Mighty Mo tube chute.

Landscapers in action.

More landscape progress. Look at all those racks of plants, shrubs and bushes!

The giant blue Archimedes screw on the left will elevate water to the top of the hill for King Kaw Rapids River. This thing is HUGE! On the right is the giant Aqua Veyer (conveyor) that will lift guests up to the beginning of this 3,000-foot rapids river adventure.

That's a sneak peek for now. As you can see, we are getting closer.  Once again, we do not have an exact opening date to share, but we will open the new rides as soon as we can, some sooner than others.

Watch for updates at schlitterbahn.com. In the Kansas City section on the Attractions page, the attractions labeled "Opening Later This Summer" will be updated with a "Now Open! New!" message immediately as they open.

Have a great day!

  5. We are still aiming to open these attractions this summer. Instead of opening them all at once, we may open each attraction as it is ready so you can enjoy these new experiences as much as possible before our summer season ends on September 5. We will keep you updated here at SchlitterBlog, on our Facebook and Twitter accounts and on our website. Thanks for your never ending enthusiasm! The anticipation continues to build...

  6. Just want to say "Thank You" for the hard work you guys are putting into making this park spectacular. I don't know how/why Kansas City was chosen as a new home for Schlitterbahn, but I'm HAPPY you guys are here. I know there are alot of naysayers and people not happy with the park's progress, but all I can say is "WOW, people" Schlitterbahn could have showed no interest in KC and not been here at all. I'm guessing the "challenges" you've been facing getting these new rides open is beyond your control otherwise they would have been open by now. I appreciate all the hard work, excited to see this park grow, and "Welcome" again to Kansas City!
